Stumbled across this today for $21.39, and thought it would be interesting to compare with the '99. A WS 88, two notches down from the '99.

Don't pass this one by! It's blend is only slightly different from the '99, yet still identifiable as the Rutherford. Delightful, with a solid center and strong finish. We enjoyed tonight with leftover sirloin, fresh sweet corn, russets and grilled portabellas (how many guys do you know who build an oak fire just to grill mushrooms?!) I'm buying more.

I went back this evening to buy more of the '98. They had a few bottles, all right. But today, the price was $36.99! Incredible! Left 'em where I found 'em.

The price went back down to $21.39 so I had snagged a few more. Popped one tonight with oak-fired shrimp and ribeyes. Major let-down! Nothing there. This sucker has shut down, thank you very much. A mere shadow of its former self. Made a note to try again in six months; for now, will let it sleep.
