Had this tonight with Italian herb marinated beef loin, baked spuds and salad with crumbled stilton and olive oil mixed with 21-year-old balsamic vinegar.
Dark clear garnet color. Nose of black fruit, cassis, lead pencil and alcohol. Somewhat bright flavors of mature cherry, plum and cedar and no detectable oak. Long finish with some drying tannins. Paired very well with the meal.

Drew, this wine marked the return of respectability for this beautiful property. Maybe someone over there is correcting the mistakes by Coke in their reign. They still don`t have a clue about their marvelous Diamond Mountain property. WW

They have a new winemaker, though I had read that the '95s were the first Cab vintage he had any influence over. Can't remember the name. I do remember some cutting comments about the previous regime's fascination with oak.

You know, when I was drinking this wine last night I kept thinkin "Bordeaux"... I thought I was crazy. This morning while discarding the bottle, I read the back label. << 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot, 3% Merlot and 1% Cab Franc. "Berry like fruit with cedar overtones and a minty finish define the style of this Cabernet Sauvignon, crafted in the traditional Bordeaux manner.">> Who'd a thunk?
