One of the WLDG participants praises this as a good QPR so I ordered a glass of this to accompany meat loaf at a restaurant in Charlotte. Opaque, dense and viscous in the glass. Appeared deep purple in muted lighting. Heady aroma of black fruits--mainly berries. Medium bodied with fuzzy soft tannins. On the palate, mulberries and blackberries. Pairs quite well with the meatloaf with chanterelle mushrooms and wrapped in bacon (also creamy potatoes and fried onion rings.)

I had the pleasure of buying a complete cellar of old Martini cabs back in the 70s'. The quality, consistancy, and over-all quality of these gorgeous wines from the late 40s' 50s' and 60s were resposible
for my dedication to Calif wines. They had balance and nuances not often found in the wines of today. More Bordelais rthan new world, these 3-5 buck wonders are ectched in my tasting mind foreever. WW
