For me, each release of both the Grand Estates Cab and Chard seem to be some of the most consistant 10 buck winners. The 02 Cab is no exception. Nothing fancy, just simple good fruit and a touch of caramel like oak in the finish. Ordering a case after this post.

Your bet!!

Gee wiz this stuff is good every time. Making my way through a bottle and can't find a flaw in sight. CC is the most consistant value winery in the States IMHO.

No question CC is one of the top P/Q producers in the WORLD today. WW

Bucksnort doesn't like the new releases: http://www.wines.com/ubb2/Forum29/HTML/000173.html

Their Cab was very overripe tasting, or I got a cooked bottle.

The Merlot was an oak bomb. Very underwhelmed overall.

I will have to stock up on the 02 then. It's outstanding.

I am not an experienced wine drinker. I have tried a variety of wines in the past few months just to find out what my tastes are. I like this Columbia Crest 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon better than any I have tried so far. Every other Cabernet has seemed "lifeless" (for lack of a better word) in comparison.

I hear ya Cat. They make a VERY appealing cab... experienced or not.
