QPR alert here. Black/ruby in the glass, not opaque. Rich nose of black currant, dark fruit and a little vanilla. Flavors follow nose leaning to the lush side. Well balanced with a linguring finish. Plenty of structure and fine tannins indicate some aging potential. VERY nice Cab for $10, $8 by the box at one of my stores. 13.5% Alc/vol.

Drew, I think that was one of the "value" wines recommended by Consumer Reports.
My usual wine shop has an under $10 California cabernet sauvignon (Kimball) which they say is quite good. I may buy some of that and also the Paringa Shiraz which is also on sale next weekend. But I really want to pick up a Gewurztraminer from Alsace for Thanksgiving. I have only a half bottle and will need more than that to share.
I plan to contribute a Beaujolais Cru (possibly the Regnie) and the Gewurtraminer as well as party mashed potatoes and pumpkin/cream cheese roll to the dinner.
