Orville Magoon was the first grower in Calif to plant all of the bordeaux varietals in his beautifuyl Guenoc Valley. This is a superb wine structured like the bordeauxs he wanted to emulate. Deep ruby, with a highly scented bouquet of flowers and spice. Deep fruits, vanilla, and a cigar-box character meet the nose and all carry thru on the palate. Lots of character and structure that's enveloped by a core of rounded tannins. This is a wine for the 2nd decade of the 21st century. Lovely. 92. WW

Guenoc does not seem to get the press that they deserve IMHO.....

WW et all, if you've tried the '97 how does it compare to the '94?

Hi Drew, Almost a carbon copy. It resides in cellar. WW And Bucko, I agree. They make some Q/P wines that rank with any jernt, and at lots of price points. Lilly knew what she was doin' when she had ole' J.P. buy this plot for her..Huh?
