This piece of work just keeps on keepin' on. Every bottle shows how a full-throttle, extracted, opulant wine can have complexity with finesse. Saturated deep purple, with black fruits, soy, sweet spices and a smokey componet adding to the complexity. Another 5-lapper that is already classic but still has enough silky tannins to take it the 2-3 to peak. 96/99. 50 by the box. WW

Had to try another 94 after the Montelena. This is another one of the top 5 from this superior vintage. Heady bouquet that filled the room. More floral now than last bottle. Still needs time to hit the summit. No change in scoring. WW
