we started with a 1997 Franus Napa. Deep ruby. Brite red fruits, cedar, vanilla, and earth come across on both the nose and palate. Nice entry, solid center and a 3&3/4 lapper finish. Nice bottle 88/90. 27 at Vintage wines in San Diego. 13.6% alc. Next we opened a 1995 B.V Latour Reserve. Medium deep ruby. Complex with red and black fruits, cassis, pencil shavings, and spice showing on the nose and tongue. Still with 2-4 to shed the remaning soft tannins. Super bottle. 91/91 60 by the box. 13.5% alc. The last of the mohicans was the 1995 Viader. This vineyard is producing some of the most compelling cabs in Napa,IMHO.A blend of 53% Cab and 47% Cab Franc this tremendous Howell Mtn property aromatics are killer.
