Could definately content with the Insignia as the wine of the vintage IMHO. Still almost opaque. Red and black fruits, with a plumminess underlying, a cigar-box meets cinnamon-drop character, vanilla and cassis. Satin entry with weight on the middle palate and as close as can happen without getting there a full 5 lapper finish. Still lots of rounded tannins that'll carry this killer another 5-7. Foley really did his thing on this baby. In at a light-running 13% alc. 93/95. Will probably upgrade next bottle. 22 by the box.WW

WW, have you ever tried Robert Foley Claret (his own label)? At a tasting, I preferred that over the Ridge Montebello (both were quite young wines) but it is probably a small production.

Yes WOW have his 98 and 99 resting in the cellar. A very talented (and according to my CB and Daughter,Good-looking, Hot, and some other adverbs.) winemaker. Had fun at a tasting at one of the most beautiful hotels in the universe, The Enchantment Resort In Sedona Az where this amiable young feller ALMOST made me a SW drinker again. Have every vintage from this marvelous Spring Mountain property that this cat has produced. WW
