Decided to take the advice of WS and give this one a look. I can say that I agree with their high rating. Fab stuff with loads of dark fruit along with hints of chocholate, coffee, and cedar. Really nice stuff of the money. $15.

I'm on a continual search for good inexpensive cabs. I'll try to find this one -- sounds delicious!

I bought one today for $14.00. Looking forward to trying it!

Let me know what you think.

Wow! A really big Cab for the money! Lots of blackberry and cedar flavors. This one has some more complexity than I expected in this price range. I also taste a little coffee, chocolate, and leather.

Thanks for the recommendation!

I am always worried when I post on a wine that I'm nuts and no one else will taste what I taste. Glad to hear you liked it! (And that I'm not nuts...)

It's very good, but not one I would reach for if I wanted to drink a glass solo. It needs to be accompanied by a good sharp cheese or beef to bring out the best in it. It's a bit too woody for me to drink it by itself.

yeah, this bottling typically isn't for the oak-averse. i was a big fan of the '97 and '99 (both great values and case buys), but haven't been that impressed with the vintages since. i can get the '02 locally for $11.99 per, so i'll grab a bottle and give it a try. thanks GAD and bern.

Picked up 2 at Bev Mo for 11.99. Tasted chocolate right away, melted off to red cherries. I can definitely taste/smell the oak. Not a bad everydayer at all. Better w/food!

Tried a bottle tonight and I'm a bit mixed but overall positive on this wine. Just a bit too oaky, smokey for me but okay because there is so much of the other stuff.

It was very dark garnet/purple in color. Wine is very fruit forward with jammy currant, toasty oak, coffee/chocolate and a hint of stemminess. Densely flavored wine with a medium finish. Decent for the price (but not at the restaurant price for $60CDN per bottle or about $54 USD....well I guess 2.5 times.....Matched up very well to a maytag blue on a 7 oz Fillet Mignon. I kind of got burned out with this one. I was super impressed day one, but lost interest after a while. I think you are right, too smokey and too much going on.
