- doug'n'boston - 09-02-2004 1998 Eric Russell Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon Okay I need to come up with a better adjective than “yummyâ€, and at the risk of having my first two posts being “yummy†… well this wine is just plain good. An off year for most, I’m on the last ½ glass, having grilled burgers, corn, asparagus, and shitake mushrooms topped with EVO, salt, pepper and parmesan cheese. Wonderful aroma, smooth finish, nice even tannins and grabbed on sale for $19.99. - Kcwhippet - 09-02-2004 If you didn't already know, Erich Russell is the owner of Rabbit Ridge, so that should give some hint of what to expect. - doug'n'boston - 09-02-2004 Actually clearly stated on the label. Curious if that's a good or bad thing? I've had a few Rabbit Ridge Zins that were good, not great. So I think of them as a moderate label. This is his premium label ... for what that's worth. What ever the Rabbit Ridge rep ... this is a good wine. Two happy nights of sipping! - winoweenie - 09-03-2004 I posted on the 97 sometime in the past. Eric and I are good friends. Early-on he made some bodacious Chards and Merlots from purchased grapes and his lovely vineyard on Westrside Rd. The 97 should be coming around. I'll post on it next week. WW - Glass_A_Day - 09-03-2004 I agree on Rabit Ridge. All fair at best experiences. I will loke for this bottling. |
