Tho this outstanding producer is always at the top of any vintage with his Napa and flagship Insignia bottlings. Seems every 10 years ( 75-85-95) the Napa rachets up a couple of notches into the high echelon of quality. Almost opaque, a bevy of aromas hit you with the dominate one being pure fruit. Cassis, spices, and a small vanillan prescence all come across on the palate. A strong mid-palate is a preludes to a 5-lapper finish. Sweet, rounded tannins give plenty of structure for this baby to improve another 3-5. Killer juice. 93/95. 23 by the box. WW
