This gorgeous Mt. Veeder property has made some serious wines in the last 10. Think it was on the 92 tasting I did a few years back. This hummer is dead at the top of it's game. Clear ruby with plenty of weight on the entry and middle palate. The brite fruits I remembered have gone over to a black plum area and the spices and tobacco notes have come on. A really nice example of a mountain cab that's grown a Van Dyke after shedding its' peach fuzz. A welcome break from the rash of new Bordeauxs' I've been trying. No trace of the tannins from the last bottle I tried 6 months ago. Should hold another 6-9. 91. 29 by the box at issue. WW
