Used as a benchmark for the Escudo. Make no mistake that this baby can hold its' own against any Meritage of Bordeaux that's thrown up agin' it.Takes 5 minutes for the gorgeous nose to open and reveal layers of delicious fruit, roses and violets, and a major component vanilla and cassis, cocoa, and exotic spices that let you know it's special. This is a major jewel in the wine-making crown of Ken Dies and the Garveys. Hope every other vintage of this special wine turns into as good an example excellence as this beauty. 96.
