If you're passionate about exploring the world of wine and food, we encourage you to join the excitement at The Fairmont Banff Springs’ 14th Annual Festival of Wine and Food October 28th – 30th, 2005. Two rewarding days in a spectacular mountain setting, filled with wine tastings and fine cuisine. Meet the many “vineyard celebrities” who will be on-hand to mingle and share their knowledge with you including Gerald Uhlen from Joseph Drouhin, Huyshe Bower from Taylor Fladgate, Danilo Drocco from Fontanafredda, Bruce Cakebread from Cakebread Cellars also, a panel of presenters showcasing Austria’s wines including Markus Huber of Weingut Huber, Michael Moosbrugger of Weingut Schloss Gobelsburg and Thomas Klinger of Weingut Bründlmayer. Throughout the festival, taste the culinary creations of AAA 5 Diamond Banffshire Club’s Chef Daniel Buss plus join him in a cooking demonstration using some of the world’s most lavish ingredients paired with an elite line up of wines.

A pre-event 1961 Bordeaux Premier Tasting on Friday morning sets the right tone for the weekend. Experience a truly once in a life time horizontal tasting of some of the greatest Bordeaux ever produced Château Margaux, Château Lynch Bages, Château Pichon Comtesse, Château Ducru Beaucaillou, Château Calon-Ségur plus the 1961 Chateau Palmer presented by proprietor Mr. James Sichel.

Whether you're a novice wine lover or experienced connoisseur, you're in for an enriching, entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable celebration of wine.

The Fairmont Banff Springs' 14th Annual Festival of Wine and Food will be held from October 28th to October 30th, 2005. The Festival is an all-inclusive package* including Friday and Saturday nights accommodation, breakfast and lunch daily, a ticket for both the Friday night Vintners’ Reception and the Saturday night Gala Dinner, five formal wine tastings, cooking demonstration and wine pairing, valet parking, service charges, and all applicable taxes. Package starting at $1073* CDN per person. * Based on double occupancy in a Fairmont Room. (The 1961 Bordeaux tasting is an a la carte event and not included in the package price.)
