2005 Chapoutier Hermitage Le Sizeranne - TheEngineer - 08-19-2015

The term infanticide is usually not flashed around for a while already 10 years old but it appears completely appropriate for this bottle.

This wine was shut down from the get go. The nose was very muted, slightly herb, floral, on the palate, it was like sipping tannic blood, blood from a fresh slaughter but so tough that it reviewed exactly nothing. Shut down hard. Of course in my cellars since day one so this one is progressing slowly.

After dinner, after about 6 hours, the little that was left over in the bottle finally opened up a little to show what this could be. This could be a great bottle! Super fresh still, great texture but no need to touch for another 5 years.....
