One for WW , 1994 Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve - TheEngineer - 05-07-2015
I was so looking forward to sharing this bottle with friends and a good night came by recently where this could occur.
Some friends from the west coast came by and demanded to not be served no stinking european wine...... for those that know my cellar......this was not going to be easy...so out came this bottle
Great Cork. I turned the bottle to pour it into the first glass, The wine gracefully slipped out of the bottle, out of the deep sleep it had just been in, The color was this bright translucent but deep ruby with a hint of a mature bricking in it. It was mesmerizing for a minut. The nose was controlled but had strength. This things that hit you are the secondary notes of cigar, cedar, some bell pepper, pencil lead, then moving to the still opulent dark berries. This is a well aged full bodied wine, but extremely well balanced and with a good acidity, it remains quite fresh as well. The texture is lush but structured and the finish iingers. It's the texture that remains in your thoughts though as the last of that wine is poured out to impressed friends.

A stellar vintage from a stellar producer. Big Bob knew the difference between " Napa" & " Reserve " WW

Had it a few times over the years. Just gets better with age.
