I have a bottle of 1979 Cabernet & a 1979 Pinot Noir from Special Bottlings No. R79-118 & R79-115, respectively. They were released by the wineries on Nov. 1982 & Nov. 1981, respectively. I know how many cases were released & that they were bottled in small lots by Select Cellars, Windsor & Select Cellars, Heraldsburg in Sonoma County. Anyone know anything about these wines?

I also have a California Mountain Pinot Noir, 1974, bottled by Louis M. Martini

I'd appreciate any information on the value or where to find out more about these wines.

Hi Yayin and welcome to the board. The wines are lots that were made to be drunk on release by Windsor Cellars ( A Rodney Strong Label that primarily sold direct with the customers name on the label). No residual value. You could get lucky if they've been stored well and might still be drinkable. You can forget the 74. WW

Thanks for the info. At least I know what I do/don't have. All have been stored very well, but I guess it would be difficult to try to sell. Best to drink & hope for the best.

Made a vintage correction on above post. Even most of the great 74s' are history. ww
