2011 O'Shaughnessy Howell Mountain - TheEngineer - 12-22-2014

For those that are quite familiar with O'Shaughnessy, the slight change in style will be very evident here. This is not a bad thing as I'm assuming it was to get the best of a difficult vintage and this is by no means a bad wine.

It's just that the power of Howell mountain fruits is not front and center of this wine. In fact, it is a very elegant and sauve wine. Quite sophisticated even. The tannins are quite smooth, accompanied by red berries, cedar and tobacco, nicely integrated into each other. The texture is smooth and silky and there is quite a persistence. Well done for this vintage and was rather popular with the group
