2001 Chateau Coutet - TheEngineer - 03-12-2014
After reading about the fact that this was a bit lighter than most 2001's I wanted to try an it and see it for myself. They were certainly right, this wine is much lighter on its feet than other 01's but not in a bad way. tropical fruit pinches the nose right away but it is like a like fruit salad. Not big on structure and lacking the massiveness that is '01, this wine is still compelling but in comparison with other 01's would come up short for the vintage wehn som much more could have been achieved. Very attractive but wanted more.
