1983 Kistler California Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma - TheEngineer - 03-08-2014

This bottle bothered me and I'm not sure why. On first sip, it is everything you'd want in an aged Cali Cab from Sonoma, its smooth, complex, still good fruit and all of this hangs on a structure.

But what seemed to bother me was that everything seemed out of proportion. It lacked balance in that it seemed to have been both acidified and Chapeltized. I'm not sayint that they did this and frankly I'm not even suggesting it. It just tastes that way. There is too much fruit left for too much acidity and it seems a bit a piece. Maybe I should give it some time.
