1999 Lorenzo Corino Barbera d'Asti Case Corini la Barla - TheEngineer - 09-02-2013

Yes, a 14 year old Barbera. This is a bit of an anomoly.

This wine I know very little about but is made apparently by someone who rightfully believes in his patch of barbera. The wine frankly was still young, tannins resolving but still a full blooded intense italian, a bit dirty, barnyardy, deep and rich, found perhaps behind a bit too much wood, good no great structure, intense floral and berries, almost out pulled the amarone that was beside it. It is an interesting interpretation of Barbera, not one for the massess for sure. I wish I had another bottle to revisit in another 5 years.
