2000 Domaine des Baumard Coteaux du Layon Clos de Sainte Catherine - TheEngineer - 09-02-2013
I've always loved these bottles and have had other vintages. This one though, while nice, was not amongst the best of them. Perhaps not a great bottle. Nose was exceptionally mute for this wine, not reserved but muted. On the palate, it is much better, all the components there, orange, orange peel, apricot, acidity, etc, but it did not seem all together. Perhaps it was catch in a strange time but regardless, still a decent product.
