2004 Chateau Leoville Las Case - TheEngineer - 06-24-2013

I don't often get a chance to drink Super Seconds cuz they are so darn expensive nowadays. Even with Leo's I usually buy Barton because its a better value and until the last few years, I've preferred that over Poyferre. But when I get a chance to try Las Case, I never turn it down.

This is a broading wine. No where near ready. Deep and dark, showing immense presense, if not power, Good balance and texture, you get the sense that you are only seeing 1/4 of the wine right now. Somewhere behind all this is much more but even then, this is a grand wine. Such depth. Impressive and will revisit in 4-5 years. No need to go sooner really.
