Knot "Halyard" NV Brut Sparkling Wine - Drew - 12-23-2012

Napa. 55% Chardonnay, 44% Pinot Noir, 1% Pinot Meunier

Picked up a couple of these for $26 per and popped one last night with my wife and a close friend. Probably the best domestic sparkler I've ever had. Very fine agressive bead. Flavors of lemon custard, brioche and granny smith apple. Was very impressed and tastes like twice the cost. Nice to see this type of quality comming from the States. They also make a rose which I also bought but haven't tried yet.

From the web site:
"The Halyard, named for the sailing rope, is a non-vintage Brut from 2006 and 2007 fruit, with four years en tirage. The wine is both full-bodied and powerful with a creamy finish."

My bubbly for the holidays is JCB No69 French sparkling Rose wine. Me pusher poured me a tad a couple ago and I loved the stuff. So far have used it to do everything but shave with it. Giving it instead of wine to me buds and budesses and the feedback has been keen. At 20 a clatter it be a definate no-brainer fer the weener. WW ( The JCB stands for J.C. Boisset. )
