2010 Jackson Triggs Niagara Merlot - TheEngineer - 12-12-2012

Sitting in the Air Canada lounge and looking at the bottle that more than a few people have gone back for so I thought I'd take a look.

Pleasant if simple, berries but a bit of a harsh stemminess, medium body bit little length, good acidity but can't cant rid of chewy stemminess. bit of heat at the very end. Okay for lounge, now where did that JW Black go....

I have found that most if not all Jackson Tiggs have that statement on the bottle that means the grapes could be from anywhere!

The stemminess most probably comes from underripe grapes, though I usually get a green bell pepper note.

Stemmy, medium-body, and heat: sounds like a wine with problems.

The name threw me. Niagara Merlot. What a blend that would make!
