2009 Château Les Grands Chênes - TheEngineer - 11-09-2012

Holy moly, punching well above its weight, and what QPR is about again. Just under $20 a bottle for an '09 Bordeaux is what I'm looking for.

Good density of fruit, fruit is definitely out front and center, easy to drink and enjoy, some minerality but not much, decent structure but lacks the focus (or what is that word.......precision??) and is a bit broad for me. A bit short on the finish and not all of one piece right now but man, it will be hard to not finish this before my 2010's arrive.

If you see it for a good price (again under $20), worth a try.

Have a case of the '01 and a couple of '05's snoozing in the cellar....interesting that the former was $11.99 when purchased in '04 and the '05 was $10 more (thanks, CellarTracker).
