2005 Grivot - TheEngineer - 11-04-2012

We had a wine dinner in prep for an up coming auction. The auction house and the company at dinner were outstanding. The restaurant (Toque) was also outstanding, the food done incredibly well. I'm posting on the wines that were at the tasting and some that people brought to the event to share. Regardless of whether I thought the wine was good or not, I appreciated the opportunity to taste them and learn from them

05 Grivot (did not get vineyard) - There were two mystery wines of the night, double blind for most of us. Nose was very earthly,
mushroomy, more foresty notes for me, then followed by he obvious
large fruit, good structure.

Pinot Noir for sure, Burg too from a sunny year?
Guessed 05 Pommard. Got vintage and general region right right but not region. It was Vosne Romanee and not Pommard.....was happy I was pretty close.
