I've never had one of these before so I did not know what I was in for. Frankly I needed a bit of cooking wine (not much and in these cases, I often open better bottles cuz I need to drink the rest of it.

Opened and found the wine perhaps a bit closed? Nose was a bit of oak, ligther on the fruit. On the palate, it certainly was medium plus to full bodied, densely constructed but missing the corresponding flavors. It's almostly like a boardeaux austere. I like it but am a waiting to see if the fruit returns like the hole in the wine suggests it might.

4 hours later...still waiting but is s a decent bottle regardless.

HA! I'm home this weekend and got a chance to use the slow cooker that I bought some time ago. Made a traditional morrocan lamb with veggies stew and couscous for dinner.

I had been in Europe for a while after a few weeks on the west coast earlier in Feb. Smile I've gotta bring some of the 200mL whisky bottles for you KC to try!
