A deal in Pennsylvania, which features government run distribution.

In case Brom is still checking in:

Did you buy some of the wine? And, what are storage conditions like in those PA state stores?

- Brom - 05-18-2012

Bought a half-dozen bottles from three different outlets. have had a couple, both in good condition.

State store storage is probably typical which means somewhere south of the best practices.

That the storage is typical in state outlets should be viewed as a major plus--and quite a surprise, too. Glad the wines are what you thought they should have been. Nice to find bargains.

Not sure about 08 but the 99 and 87 I've cellared have turned into lovely bottles. Think I've posted on them but do rememberthe quality. Hopefully the new winemaker has kept the quality that Mr. Groom initiated. WW

I would guess that it was around the '99 vintage that the Marlstone Vineyards moved out of my price range, that is, at some point it went from $29.99 to $35. Maybe a little earlier. but around there. Just couldn't do it at $35, even though at the time it was the best CalCab of my experience.

One of the main movers when I saw the recent 'on-sale' notice - I had never bought this wine so inexpensively.

I know Herr Inn-spec-i-tor is turning 5 shades of purp with this pricing. WW
