Knew it was probably early but I like checking the progress of them suckers at about the 5-6 year mark. Can report that, IMHO, this bottle will take its place 'mongst all the terrific bottles since 1936. Haven't had every vintage but have had the 36, 3 from the 40s, 5 from the 50s, 5 from the 60s, and then every vintage since the outstanding 70. Only a handful of Napa wineries can match BVs' consistancy and quality. WW

wow, ww, not to many people can walk in your shoes and say they've had Merican wines from the 30's thru 50's... would they still be good today?

IMHO and not too humble one I really think that the early wines from BV made by Andre T would have the staying power of the 1st growths.The only really weak vintages I've experienced were the 67, 71 (or 72 which ever was released) and nothing since.WW
