What a lovely nose this wine has, completely lively, red berries, vibrant fruit, elegant oak, very clean, slightly sweet almost. On the palate, very different. Austere, but with muted fruit, acidity for structure but a nice smooth texture. Very little of the '04 ladybug bitter taste. Very nice. Others in the group could not get past the austerity but I did not mind it within its context. Probably a bit closed down and we did not decant.

I thought the last '04 Nuits St. Georges from Domaine Robert Chevillon I tried might have been in a closed down phase. I have one more and may try it next year or in two years.
