- voyager - 09-29-2000 Need specific info like classifications, ratings, specific grape blends and general taste profiles for the following three 97 ch ve de leoville 97 ch calon segur 97 chat clinet Thanks in advance - mrdutton - 09-29-2000 Check the following website: http://www.medoc-wines.com/index.html You should be able to find information on each of the chateau you mention, or links that will point you in the right direction. Ch Clinet is a Pomerol and is not classed. (I should mention that none of the wines from Pomerol are classed and that the producers there seem to like it that way.) Their wine has a high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon which is unusual in this predominately Merlot/Cabernet Franc region. Ch Calon-Segur is troisiemes crus, for instance. The following information was found on the site about this wine: SOILS AND SUB-SOILS gravel. AREA UNDER WINES 58 ha PLANTATION DENSITY 6000 vines/ha AVERAGE AGE OF THE VINES 35 years. AVERAGE ANNUAL PRODUCTION 230000 bottles. GRAPE VARIETIES Cabernet-Sauvignon 50%, Cabernet franc 10%, Merlot noir 35%, Petit Verdot 5% HARVEST by hand TEMPERATING MONITORING by trickling LENGTH OF VATTING 24 days AGEING new barrels 50% MATURING PERIOD 24 months SALE SYSTEM - DISTRIBUTION Trade 90 %, Direct 10 % Contact : EXPORT TRADE Countries : All countries [This message has been edited by mrdutton (edited 09-30-2000).] |
