I guess word of my developing taste for wine got out over the holidays. I received bottles of the following cabs:

Robert Mondovi 2001
Stags Leap 2001
Chateau Souverain 1995
Meridian 1995

Would appreciate any comments particulary if I should drink the older ones now or will the keep a few years.

Thanks in advance

Hi DD. Best to plan on drinking the 95s' ASAP. The Meridian is not vinified for long ageing and unless it's the Proprietors Reserve neither is the Souverien. Both of the 01s can be enjoyed now or laid down for 2-4 years. WW

Both years were great in California. Yet I agree that you should drink the 95's now and save the 01's for a special occasion. Or - drink them all now!

I have a feeling you're not going to be impressed with the Meridian. I would drink that one first.
