- digiorno - 12-04-2002 This is a simple question I'm sure, but are wines generally dry or sweet or can I find a wine that is both? Also, any recommendations on a white wine that is slightly sweet that can be found at most restaurants in case I do not know what to order? - Kcwhippet - 12-04-2002 A dry wine has next to no residual sugar after fermenting. A sweet wine has noticeable residual sugar. So, a wine can't be both. There are several white wines that have some sweetness or that taste as if they do. Some you might try are Riesling, Gewurztraminer or a demi-sec Vouvray. |
