- theatrequeen - 12-03-2005 This will sound very naive, but I'm really just checking. How is Chenin Blanc pronounced? I've heard it several different ways. Thanks. - robr - 12-03-2005 Also, what kind of grapes are used? Inquiring minds want to know. The pronunciation is "She-nin (the "e" as in "tennis") Blonk" I believe. My Oklahoma dixshunary says it sounds like Shin-an' Blonk.WW - Thraz - 12-03-2005 I have a natural advantage so there is absolutely no merit in my knowing this, but: shun-a (this last "a" is pronounced much like the a in "bang" - don't pronounce the n at the end) bl-[au] (the "au" is much like the "au" sound in "haunt", as in haunted house - neither the n nor the c is pronounced) Many variations are ok though, my English is generally tolerated so I am more than happy to return the favor. Also, that is the name of the grape. Vouvray. - winoweenie - 12-05-2005 Mines easier..." NO THANKS " WW |
