I have inherited 8 bottles of 1939 Château d'Yquem - well stored - shoulder high - straw color. I have googled sites and have found a wide range of values. Suggestions on value - and advice on marketing. Thanks.

Welcome to the board JB. Wine-searcher.com shows a range of $875-$2100, which is broad indeed. I would suggest you list with an auction site like Winebid.com, since their value is really whatever someone is willing to pay for them. You could try to sell them individually or as a lot of 8, your choice. But do take care to continue their proper storage while they're in your possession; it would be a shame to lose them now to bad storage after 60+ years.

Hi JB,

Assuming they're 750 ml bottles... the prices range from $875 in the UK (Fine & Rare Wines Ltd) to $1545 in France (WineMania France) to $2100 in the U.S. (D. Sokolin & Co.)

It'll also depend on how they've been stored... who you're marketing it to and how it's being marketed.

So many wines... so little time!

Cheers
