- IrishMum - 04-07-2001 Hello! I am new to the board and I was wondering about a bottle of wine that I recently aquired. I am pretty sure that it has no value, etc...but I am wondering if it is even drinkable?! I looked it up on a few websites, and I am unable to find any information on it. It is: Chanson 1969 Vin De Bourgogne Pinot Noir St Vincent Will I die if I open it? <hehe> If anything, It would be fun for me to save and to have...as it is the year that I was born! :-) Thanks for any information that you may have! IrishMum P.S. I AM THIRSTY! - Innkeeper - 04-07-2001 Hi Irishmum, and welcome to the Wine Board. You have a journeyman but normally well crafted negotiant Burgundy. Suspect that it may be well over the hill, but you never know until you try. If you are really thirsty, buy a bottle of somethings else you like to have in reserve, and go ahead and pop it. The empty bottle will make just as nice a souvenir as the full one. - winoweenie - 04-07-2001 IK tells it like it be Irishmum. Welcome to the board. WW - IrishMum - 04-07-2001 Thanks boys! Any suggestions for a very nice bottle for my reserve??? Hmmm...I like anything red, French and/or Italian! As far as my 1969 Pinot Noir...I think that I will just GO FOR IT! Thank you for the nice welcome! ~IrishMum [This message has been edited by IrishMum (edited 04-07-2001).] - winoweenie - 04-07-2001 Mumser, If you go to the Rhone thread you'll find lots of great 98 cotes du rhones in the 10 buck range that be delicious. WW - Innkeeper - 04-07-2001 One that is similar to the subject wine and is an everyday favorite of several of us is Joseph Drouhin, LaForet, Bourgogne Pinot Noir. - barnesy - 04-07-2001 I agree with the LaForet Pinot Noir from Drouhin. Its good stuff for the price. Great lighter burgundy. Barnesy - IrishMum - 04-08-2001 Thank you~Thank you~Thank you!!! I appreciate the suggestions, and I am on my way out to 'aquire' such! ~IrishMum |
