I'm pretty new to the whole wine thing, I know what a lot of them taste like and the damage they do to my wallet...so what sweet or semi-sweet wines can be stored/aged to be sweeter. Can you age a sweet wine to the point it would be considered as sweet as a dessert wine? Something on the lesser expensive side of the table?

Welcome to the group. Unfortunately, many sweet wines are very expensive, especially those that can age for a long time. Ice wines, vin santos, tokai, etc are all 25 year + long termers. Many Sauternes are also able to age long.

As for the price, the only one that I can think off is German Riesling at the Auslese level. These can age 20 years plus in good vintages but the are still $30 plus for a decent bottle.

You can often find good deals on some fascinating and VERY ageable sweet Chenin Blanc wines from the Loire valley.
Bonnezeaux, Vouvray moelleux and "Quarts de Chaume" are things to look for...

VH, you are right...I had forgotten about those. Also I am unfamiliar with the Australian and South African ports and late harvests that may also fit the bill.
