I recently was given a gift of 3 vintage bottles of wine for my 21st birthday, each bottle year is 1986 ( the year I was born) and I was wondering if there was any worth to them. The three bottles are Pere Anse/Me - Cotes Duhrone Villages....Sebastiani Zinfandel and Charles Krug Cabernet Sauvignon.

All of them were stored in a cooler, on there side, in a cool place.

From what I gather, I believe there may be some worth to the Charles Krug.....If anyone could give me ANY info, it'd be greatly appreciated ! =)

Welcome to the Wine Board. You are right the Krug should be OK, but there is no guarantee. The others a surely over the hill.

thank you for the welcome =)

Do you think the Krug is worth anything?

Single bottles are very difficult to resell.

If you enjoy wine at all you should appreciate the thoughtfulness of the gift intended to give you wines from your birth year to taste and savor. You shouldn't be looking to make a profit from reselling them (which is unlikely anyway). That's like taking back a wedding gift not because it's a duplicate (no one needs three blenders) but because you want to cash it out.

The value in it would seem to be in the gift and the opportunity to taste a wine that still may be drinkable from your birth year. I see that one recently auctioned at $40. Welcome to the wine board, and happy 21st.

I do appreciate the gift.....and actually it was my mom's idea to see the worth of the wine....It was more curiousity then actual intent to sell...She had the original price tag left on the bottles ( 6.99), we thought it would be funny to find out how much it was worth now....thank you everyone for your comments
