- pat Nielsen - 06-30-1999 I need some information on the following bottle of wine . Clos Des Ruchottes-Chambertin Paris 1878 Paris 1889-1900 membre-hors concours Du Jury Maisour Thomas Bassot negociant Gevrey-Chambertin (cote-d'or) Fonde'e en 1850 thank you - Jason - 07-01-1999 Going by line - "Ruchottes Chambertin" is a small Grand Cru. - "Paris 1878" looks like the negociant belongs to a trade orginization and was awarded during this time perhaps (?) - Maisour Thomas Bassot is the negociant, which is basically a grape broker/producer.The firm was founded in 1850. - "Gevery Chambertin" is the larger area in which Ruchottes Chambertin reside. They both are part of the Cote d'Or which is the entire area of Burgundy. |
