- gwendawn74 - 11-25-2002 Innkeeper I just wanted to thank you for suggesting the Beaujolais. It made for a wonderful relaxing weekend. Could you suggest a wine that is similar to it that is available year round? Thank you so much. - Glass_A_Day - 11-25-2002 Just had a bottle last night last night at Blackie's in DC. Was a nice light bottle. Good stuff for the ladies who are afraid of dry wines as well. My sweetheart, who prefers white, was quite pleased. - Innkeeper - 11-25-2002 See if you can step up to a 2001 Beaujolais Villages. - gwendawn74 - 11-25-2002 Thank you so much. This sounds like another good weekend waiting to happen. - wondersofwine - 11-25-2002 And then from there it is not a huge step to a Beaujolais Cru (these are named by Cru and don't have Beaujolais on the label) such as Moulin-a-Vent or Fleurie or Julienas, etc. Fleurie, like it's name suggests, is flowery in fragrance and usually not very tannic. Look for '98, '99 or 2000 vintage. |
