Iwas given a bottle of 1990 Louis Roederer champagne about two and a half years ago. I know little or nothing about champagne. Can someone help me and tell me if this champagne is still good to drink and also how long can I keep it before it spoils.

Assuming you have given it proper storage (cool and dark and on its side) it will definitely still be good and will probably cellar nicely for at least another decade.

Champagne in a good storage conditions can endure 25 years or more, but is always a good idea to open a bottle for the 2000 year's eve

Curmy is right, but Champagne does not have to be kept on its side. I lie down all my wines, including Champagne, for economy of space and ease of access, but the head space in all sparkling wines is so saturated by CO2 that there is more than adequate humidity to keep the cork moist and thus swollen without having to worry about keeping it in contact with the wine. So if per chance you kept the bottle upright, don't worry. Consistent, cool temperature and darkness are far more important.

Tank you Jeff, Tom and m. for answering my question about cristal champagne. I am going to enjoy it this New Years. I am sure I will love it. I'll try to share it with my husband, but I'm thinking of drinking it all myself. just kidding. thank you all.. and have a great New Years.
