- davisbl - 11-13-2002 Are merlot wines served chilled? - Innkeeper - 11-13-2002 Hi Davis, and welcome to the Wine Board. No, but they should be served at around 65 degrees F. To determine that take the temperature with a thermometer in the room the wine has been stored in, even if a short time. If it has to be raised five or ten degrees, don't worry about it; it will get there soon enough. If the temperature has to be lowered, put it in the fridge for ten minutes per degree, or into a bucket filled with ice and water for one minute per degree. |
