- rjb - 01-04-2000 I have two bottles of Greek Boutari wines. One is Retsina and the other is Kretikos. Are they still drinkable? Sorry, I forgot to mention both wines are 1995 vintage. The Kretikos is a white wine. [This message has been edited by rjb (edited 01-05-2000).] - Thomas - 01-05-2000 By its nature, Retsina should last a long while (you did not specify date). The pine resin acts as a preservative. But then, Retsina isn't very drinkable even when at its peak. The stuff takes some getting used to; it helps if you like the taste of terpentine. As for the other product you mention, not familiar with it. - n144mann - 01-05-2000 Now now Foodie.....different strokes for different folks. I agree, Retsina is an acquired taste....but so is a HUGE oak laden chardonnay if you are a white zin drinker. ( I know, you don't like those either) Anyway, I agree with foodie, your Retsina should be fine. I am not familiar with the other either, but my boss, being Greek, is familiar with many of them. I will check with him and see if I can get some info for you. Nancy [This message has been edited by n144mann (edited 01-06-2000).] |
