Had this with some steak tips, nice combo. Nose is ripe cherry. This wine is smooth and ripe, dense but nicely structured. Had two glasses before I knew it. Lovely.

I understand that this variety in California is not the same Refosco from Italy.

What's the acidity like in the Ca version?

Foodie,

While reasonably structured for a CA wine, it does not have the acidity backbone of say an italian barbera or Dochetto. I've not had (or don't recall having) an italian Rofusco There is a lot of ripeness in this wine.
