N/V Fox Run, Sable, New York ($12.99). Alcohol level: 12%. Their Sable is a slightly off dry blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. It is best served ever so slightly chilled.

It gives you raspberries and black cherries of the nose and upfront. There is more fruit, some spice, and a touch of oak in the middle. The finish is quick but pleasant.

Today our deck that was ruined by the winter was completely rebuilt and finished today, so we got our grill, smoker, and utility box out today as well. We matched the wine with hamburgers grilled over charcoal and oak smoke, and a nice salad with blue cheese dressing. It was a very nice Tuesday night.

P.S. This is a great hamburger wine, and for those of you looking for a “sweet” red wine, you might want to try this one.
