2003 Crenel Fils, Beaujolais-Villages ($9.99 Chambers Street). Alcohol leve, the obligitory 12.5%. Turned out exactly as we hoped; a fruit bomb! Matched perfectly with a dinner of sauteed Franks, freshly picked corn on the cob (still no Silver Queen here), egg potato salad, and tossed salad with tomatoes (the first) from the garden. Our hosts were very late getting their tomatoes in, and it has been a very slow season anyway because of the cool, wet spring. All very nice.
