12.5% alcohol
Very fruity and inviting aroma, halfway between red berries and plums with a suggestion of violets. Fills the palate nicely. Quite possibly drinking at its peak now. Crimson color shading to purple. Pale crimson on the last swallow. I could recommend this wine to a beginning red wine drinker.
Ordered a half bottle of this at JJ's in Kansas City to accompany lamb chops with rosemary herbed sauce, mashed potatoes and house salad with red wine vinaigrette. (Also had an excellent appetizer of four artichoke bottoms stuffed with crabmeat and topped with a lobster cream sauce. Delicate sauce and delicate prepartation.)

JJ's has an extensive wine list including by the glass and a few half bottles and especially an extensive list of ports (see appropriate thread).
