2000 Terre Rouge (a.k.a. Easton), Vin Gris d'Amador, Sierra Foothills ($12). A bone dry rose' made from mourvedre (64%) and grenache (36%). It is high in both alcohol (13.4%) and acidity (6.6 gm/liter) that balance each other nicely. Wonderful blast strawberries and red cherries on the nose and upfront. More fruit and lovely spicyness combine with the crisp acidity across the palate, ending with a clean finish. Matched easily with a grillpanned ham steak, but future purchases will be saved for warm summer days, just hanging out. Highly recommended. Best American rose' tasted in several years.
